If you mean Diet Coke when you say Coke, then that is my favorite by far! I love others, too, considering I'm a soda addict! I really only drink diet sodas, though. >_< Not good for me I'm sure. lol

f

Gosh, I really don't know. O_O All of the answers are awesome! I figure this isn't right, but I thought it was time. Time can be an asset, but also a burden if there isn't enough. I mean, time can be managed to benefit or hurt you. Plus there's the whole getting old. I could go on all day about time being connected to this in many different ways, but for now, I'll go and leave this as my answer.

f

I guess you could say it depends on who's saying it. I tell my mother everyday that I love her. I'm like, "Guess what, Mommy?" She says what. I say, "I love you!" It always cheers her up. :) I know that some people tell others that they love them because they can get something out of it, but I can never ever see myself misusing these words. I'm sure there's other ways to express love, but to me, these words alone mean so much.

f

Would it be depression maybe?

f

The morning represents a baby crawling, the afternoon represents an adult standing, and the evening represents an old person using a stick as a third leg. Is that right?

f

I guess if you'd hurt or kill someone to protect your family that makes them really important, and I've thought about that. I wonder if I'd have the strength or courage it takes to jump into battle when my family needed me to? Hmmmm...

f

I have never been in love nor have I been loved in return, but I think I could describe how it might feel. First off, there's love, then there's obsession. I'll stick with love! ^_^' The real deal is that feeling you get, it's almost psychological, when you can feel the person you're in love with. (not physically) It's a presence that does not need to be seen or spoken; it is just there. You want to be as close to that person as you can possibly be for always and forever because love is forever! You are not yourself when you aren't with that special someone. They are your other half and in many ways make you the most complete you that you could possibly be. I hope that brushes the surface of what love could be. :)

f

Quote by R0ARAll these things are important but i would have to say faith cuz it brings hope and without that trust in hope than all is lost

If you are talking about the faith as in religion, then Amen! :) (Why didn't I think of that?)

f

I voted love! I was reading the other posts to open up my own personal answer and dammed it I found it! XD Not only does love make us strive to live and pick us up when we're at our worst, it makes dying seem less pointless! Yes....that's my answer! :)

(Know what I mean?)

f

I can't pick just one because you can have family, which would be my initial choice, but you can't always trust your family members. There are some people out there that steal from, murder, and just plain hurt the "family" they are supposed to love, so I'm going to rule out family as my choice even though I love my family to death. You can build relationships on trust, but no one out there is completely trustworthy, right? I really don't know. I'm going to go with other, but I'm not sure what other really is.....forgive me for being so vague. ^_^'

f

I can honestly say I don't know. ^_^' If I were to guess, though, I'd say it was for the kids I've taken care of ever since I can remember. I am now being a sort of nanny to my two little step-sisters who lost their mother because she committed suicide. I strongly believe that they would've been A LOT less happy without my family and me being in their lives. The real reason I think this, well, my mother seems to think God placed her and my step-father together so I'd be there to guide the kids in the right direction. I really don't know about that, but they're good kids and they make good grades in school. :)

Quote by gabysango2011I love evanescence, especially anywhere, lies, missing and taking over me
I think Amy Lee has a great voice.....

I also like nightwish and lacuna coil.....

Dude! You totally just read my mind as I was going through the thread just now! lol XD

Quote by leonardobarbaI like Evanescence. The band make good music, as Nightwish or Lacuna Coil. I have their first CD. Well done. Amy Lee's voice is clean, melody is average except for some great moments.

You, too! XD

You know what?! This reminds me of the story Momiji told in Fruits Basket!

Quote by Momiji from Fruits Basket
"I want to live with all my memories, even if they're sad memories, even if they're memories that only hurt me, even if they are memories i'd rather forget. If i keep them and keep trying without running away, someday, someday, I'll be strong enough that those memories can't defeat me. I believe that. I want to believe that. I want to believe that, because i want to think that there's no such thing as a memory that's okay to forget. I want to take that memory and hold it in my heart and believe that......

.....someday we'll overcome the pain and we'll have precious memories."

f

This is a toughy! It depends on if you mean losing the love to natural circumstances like death, or they divorce/break up with you for some reason. I've brought my self to tears thinking about the future and how I could lose the person I chose to spend the rest of my life with to old age. Seperation by death can be a sad but beautiful thing. You hold on to the memories of what you shared in the past, hanging on to the fact that you will meet again someday. It's so sad. ;_; It's always worth it, though. Like CRSG said..

Quote by crsg...It would hurt, make no doubt about that. But I'd like to think that you learn things from every experience...

No matter what the circumstance, it's something that's learned from, an experience. ;)

f

Hola, konnichiwa, hello! :) Evanescence seriously rocks! I like just about all of their music, but three songs they do remain to be my favorite: Bring me to life, Tourniquet, and Imaginary. I can understand where you're coming from when you say they are repetitive a bit. I have two songs you should look for called Before the Dawn and Missing that sound like Amy Lee, but it's really different from most of the stuff they've done. Check it out and thanks for the cool thread! :D

f

This may be off topic, but I promise you it has a point. :) My little sister thinks she's fallen head over heals for a guy she goes to school with. They date for a while and for no reason he breaks up with her, hurting her, at least it seemed like it was for no reason. So what's my point you ask? Well, she asked me why God can't just make her forget the dude. I said that God can't make us forget any more than he can make us have faith in him.

I believe we are born into a world that can shape us to be evil, I mean, we are products of our environments, but we are not born evil initially. We are all God's children, after all, and one of the greatest gifts that God gave us, other than our lives, is the choice or the will power to decide. We learn how to decipher good and evil based on experiences handed to us by growing up.

P.S.~I'll let you decide how this explanation connects to my little story above. ^_^'

Arranged marriages are fine if you can find a common ground to stand on, but I believe that marriages brought on by love are the only way to go. In an arranged marriage, to me, it's like trying to force two puzzle pieces together that weren't made to fit. Let's just hypothetically say that this pairing was put together at random and the pieces just so happened to fit.(like in Corpse Bride :D ) That's not so bad and could even be a stronger bond then that which people who choose their spouses call "true love". Who knows really. ^_^' I just wouldn't want to meet the person I truly want to be married to while my parents hand me over to someone else.

Quote by Luminous85I worry about this issue! Everytime I see a car puff out a cloud of black, ashy smoke, I think, "Gosh, what could that be doing to our atmospere?!" I'm one of probably very few twenty year olds to not have a license yet, so if I want to do something, I generally have to walk. It isn't all that bad considering it's good exercise, but it takes more than on person to make a difference towards the global warming problem. I'm sure it could progress on it's own no matter what we try to do to stop it, but we're also not helping to slow it down either.

Black, sooty, ashy smoke doesn't generally contain Carbon Dioxide (CO2) any more than clear smoke/breath from oxidizing hydrocarbons. ...So, it's not any more contributory towards global warming... ...However, it can cause irritation in lungs, etc. ...Today's engineering controls try to balance the exact quantities of air in with the fuel to prevent black smoke, as well as to keep the oxygen content low enough to prevent the formation of Nitrous Oxides. :D A good balance to make.

...On a side note, thick, black smoke also tends to be richer in Carbon Monoxide, (CO), which is an odorless, tasteless, poisonous gas. ...Even explosive in the right concentrations. ...Bad stuff... ...But it's not Carbon Dioxide, which you exhale naturally. :D

...In many ways, modern day engines are remarkably clean. ...Producing more CO2 and H20 from a clean burn than other undesireable emissions. CO2 is a gas that is naturally broken down in nature, and believe it or not, the greenhouse gas that is in greatest quantities in our atmosphere is water vapor, (H2O). ...And is also the greatest variable in the greenhouse gas equation. ...That being only a component in the global temperature equation. ...The sun's energy sent to the earth isn't constant, and well, needless to say... ...That may very well be the biggest factor of all.

Mmm Science. ...Don't get to tripped out on the Anthropogenic Emissions thing. ...We may need to emit more someday to cope with the effects of the sun, or some other natural catastrophe!

Does that mean that the water vapor produced from the water cycle could be potentially more harmful in contributing to the global warming than CO2? I think that would make sense, and, come to think of it, CO2 shouldn't be so much of a problem since a percentage of it is absorbed in plants for photosynthesis. I don't know... ^_^' lol

Quote by BlackKitty13If your talking about good and evil, good is always the best. But if you mean day and night then dark, because it's cool and calming an doesn't blind your eyes!

Too true my friend! :) Wear those sunglasses so you don't go blind! :D

f

^_^' I've never heard their music before! I know, I'm a sinner. lol I'll check them out and get back to you. ;)

f

Are we really happy if we're in the dark all the time? I'll admit that I love night, if that's the type of dark you mean, but I'd rather be out and about during a warm, sunny, breezy day. As far as the dark, like evil, I'm not an evil person, so I don't fancy dark too much. :D lol

I guess it depends on whether or not this addiction(s) negatively effects peoples or your own life/lives. Addiction to things like drugs and alcohol are bad, but there are so many out there that it's impossible to single out any as the worst. I believe it is probably never healthy to get addicted to any one thing, so I suppose addiction is bad. ^_^'

f

Oh! I thought I already voted, but I guess not. lol

I already know that Kyo and Tohru have a thing for each other, he even kissed her when she got hurt from falling off that cliff. I'm not going to argue anything over that departmant, but I do think Yuki is my favorite character! I know he has trouble opening up, but I think that has more to do with the torment Akito put him through as well as when Ayame left him, when Yuki needed him the most, as a child.(Of course our beloved Ayame is trying to make up for that! :) ) Yuki struggles with peoples expectations of him as the rat. He puts on a smile and acts prince-like so the people don't see his more hurting, less perfect side. I mean, Akito used to beat on poor Yuki when he was a child, screaming at him everyday about how nobody would ever care for him and that he was nothing. There's only so much of that a person can take! His mother would also claim that he doesn't measure up to his title, and again, that he's worthless. To sum it all up, I think I like Yuki the most because he has the courage to stand up and move on even after all the torment he's been put through. He doesn't seek a shoulder to lean on because he doesn't agree with pushing his problems on to others. He's truly gentle, loving, and considerate of others, which makes him more of a prince than he thinks he is. :)

I think that depression is basically rock bottom sorrow. I don't really believe that depression is a disease or an illness really. I know people take medication for it, but I think medication is just a mask that covers up how you really feel. It's almost like living a lie. I have told myself many times that being depressed, if I am, is okay, but to me, it really isn't. I don't mean like "I need treatment to get rid of it because it's a problem", I mean "I need to suck up whatever my worries are because they're not worth wasting my life sulking over". There are things out there much worse than what I could be going through, seriously! The only thing really worthy of being depressed over is losing a loved one or having an illness that means certain death, I guess. That's just how I was brought up. ^_^'

This is a really good thread topic, BTW!
